Many of the electronic resources (including the databases and e-journals) require an Athens
username and password for access. You can self-register for Athens from an NHS machine.

We can also deliver it direct to your desktop via e-mail. Please contact the library if you wish to receive it.
Excellent online resources are available, such as UpToDate and Dynamed (for all clinical staff), Royal Marsden
(for nursing staff in particular) and Medical Masterclass (for staff sitting Royal College of Physicians examinations).
Electronic tables of content (E-tocs)
E-tocs are e-mail alerts letting you know that there’s a new issue of a journal,
and listing the contents for that issue. The e-mail will tell you whether the journal
is available electronically, in print in the library, or if we can order articles for you.
We can provide the e-tocs service for almost all journals - all you need to do is
tell us which journals you’re interested in. Simply e-mail your request list to

Often it's difficult to find the time to do a literature search.
If you need to find some information to support your clinical practice,
you can ask for a search to be carried out on your behalf.
The search will be completed by a qualified librarian.
