NHS Professionals (Nursing & Midwifery Bank)

Since 2002 NHS Professionals have worked in partnership with Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, providing their nursing and midwifery bank service. We are committed to giving staff the opportunity to work flexibly in the NHS, enabling them to achieve a better balance of work and life. We supply Registered Nurses, Midwives and Care Support Workers to provide high quality patient care at this Trust and other NHS organisations across England.

NHS Professionals is the largest provider of managed flexible services to the NHS with circa 50,000 nurses, doctors, admin. & clerical and other healthcare professionals signed to its bank; placing more than 1.5 million shifts a year, recruiting over 600 fully-screened and vetted flexible workers a month, and providing high quality workers to over 80 NHS Trusts across England. NHSP helps Trusts improve clinical governance and reduce costs.

We provide all of the following:

  • Competitive weekly pay
  • First choice of available shifts
  • Paid annual leave
  • Statutory maternity/paternity and sick pay
  • NHSP Stakeholder pension
  • Training and development opportunities
  • ...and we're part of the NHS team!

Or contact the local NHSP team:

  • Nosheen Akhtar, Trust Liaison Co-ordniator Support: 07827 939365

  • Pauline Harris, Trust Liaison Co-ordniator: 07879 621241

  • Linda Lord, Nurse Lead: 07786 390039

  • Care Support Worker Applicants:

For clinical safety reasons, recruitment to the NHS Professionals bank requires Care Support Worker candidates to have had a minimum of three months hospital care experience within the previous two years. Inevitably this means that many applications have to be turned down from people who would otherwise make excellent Care Support Workers. However, Stockport NHS Foundation Trust runs a Pre-employment Course and thanks to the close cooperation between NHS Professionals and the Trust a minimum of five places is allocated on each course for NHS Professionals candidates. For further information or if you are interested in applying for the Pre-employment course you should contact Pauline Harris, NHS Professionals Trust Liaison Co-ordinator on the number above.
