Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is opening its doors between 12pm 4pm on Saturday 25 September for its Hospital Open Day.
Taking place on the Stepping Hill Hospital site, the event promises to be fun for all. With entertainment from the local community and childrens activities including a treasure hunt and fake wounds, on site catering including afternoon tea and cakes, the event will also feature guided tours of the hospital, stands from departments across the Trust, and seminars about key health issues.
The Trust's Annual Members Meeting will also be held during the day, which will take place in Pinewood House from 2pm. What's more, there will be the opportunity to meet your local governor.

Tours
HSDU / Endoscopy decontamination
The Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit has 31 members of staff, and is open 24 hours a day. Responsible for sterilising instruments and theatre equipment, this department lies at the heart of infection prevention.
Pharmacy
Our hospital pharmacy features 3 state of the art robots, called Crash, bang and wallop. With drugs to dispense for all of our in and out-patients, this department is a critical part of the hospital's services.
Radiology

Pathology laboratories
If you have ever had a blood test or other sample taken at your doctors you may wonder what happens to it our pathology tour gives you the chance to find out.
Clinical Skills Laboratory
The Clinical Skills Laboratory is an on-site Educational facility that provides the opportunity to practice clinical skills on simulators.
SIM Suite
The Simulated Interactive Mannequin Suite (SIM Suite) uses the most advanced interactive mannequins available, which can enact many situations from asthma to heart problems from routine management to emergencies.
Day Case Unit
Many operations in hospitals can now take place as day-case i.e. a patient comes in, has their operation and is then able to go home, all in the same day. Come for a look around our day case unit.
