IN THIS SECTION

Our Trust has a 30-strong Council of Governors that help make important decisions that allow us to provide the best service possible.

There are 24 Governors who represent the public and staff and are elected by members of the Trust, while 6 are appointed by partnership organisations which are:

Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council
Stockport and High Peak Primary Care Trusts
The voluntary sector
The education sector

Notice of Election

The Trust gives notice that it will hold elections to the Council of Governors of Stockport NHS Foundation Trust for the following Public Governor positions:

Bramhall & Cheadle – 4 Governors to be elected click here for further information
Marple & Stepping Hill – 4 Governors to be elected click here for further information
(By-election): Tameside – 1 Governor to be elected click here for further information
o (By-election): Tame Valley & Werneth click here for further information

You can only stand for election in the geographic Public Constituency in which you live.

The Trust will be hosting an opportunity potential candidates to familiarise themselves with the role of the Governor. This will be held on:

Friday 24 May 2013 at 5pm in Lecture Theatre A, Pinewood House, Stepping Hill Hospital.

The Returning Officer, John Box of Electoral Reform Services Ltd, must receive all nomination papers by 12 noon on Tuesday 29 May 2013. The results of the elections will be announced at the Trust’s Offices on Thursday 11 July 2013.
